哈爾濱 Harbin

The Northeast was first occupied by Russians in early 1900 and then by Japanese. Quite a few anti-Japanese Korean memorials here. We saw big anti-Japanese demonstration in Seoul (首爾). We stayed at Shangri-La Hotel next to the river (松花江). Want to mention that the founder of Shangri-La Hotels came from Johor Bahru (新山). 哈爾濱地處黑龍江省南部，屬中溫帶大陸性季風氣候，冬季嚴寒漫長，夏季涼爽短促，以其每年一度的國際冰雪節和濃郁的歐陸風情而聞名。東北在1900年初被俄國人佔領，然後被日本人佔領。我們參觀了東北虎林園，無數頭東北虎，虎視眈眈 (below video)。下午來到太陽島上, 同時欣賞室內冰雕展。

Above video, we took a cruise on Songhua River (松花江) which is famous because of a song "On Songhua River" to show the grief and anger of people who left their homeland, and the song sung by a young lady from Dantong. 上面視頻: 來到松花江邊，乘船遊覽松花江, 丹東小姑娘為你唱一曲《松花江上》。 下面的圖片展示: St. Sophia Cathedral (聖索菲亞大教堂) was built in 1907 after the completion of Trans-Siberian Railway (西伯利亞鐵路) connecting northeast China to Vladivostok (Chinese called 海參崴) which was occupied by Russians in 1860. One time Russian Jews reached 25,000 people. They try to restore some Jewish synagogues (猶太教堂) in the city.
